Jr. Timbermen go one, two, three in WLA Draft

by Dan Marshall

For the first time ever the top three picks in the WLA Draft were from the Nanaimo Junior A Timbermen.

Jacob Dunbar went first overall to the Burnaby Lakers, 2022 captain Arthur Miller was selected by the Victoria Shamrocks and Evan Soucy stayed in the organization going third overall to the Senior A Timbermen.

Soucy said, "I'm very excited to be staying home and I can't wait to get back in the box this summer."

Two more Timbermen went in the second round 11th and 12th overall.

Aidan Danby, who joined the squad late in the season from Delta, was picked up Burnaby and former New West Junior Evan Pattison is staying with the Timbermen organization.

Easton Ong and Karson Gregory were also drafted by the Senior A Timbermen, Ong in the third round and Gregory in round five.

With Ryan Sheridan and Justin Geddie getting drafted to Nanaimo in the Territorial Round that makes nine Junior A players from the 2022 roster moving on to the WLA.
