Junior A season begins with Tmen win in Delta

The Nanaimo Junior A Timbermen started off the 2024 season with an 8-4 road victory in Delta.

The Tmen built up a 7-0 lead and cruised to the win.

Matt Boas led the offense with five points, Ty Pilkington had four, and Logan Schmidt and Andrew Bowman picked up three each.

Keegan Okino was razor sharp in net with 46 saves and a .918 save percentage.

Nanaimo's home opener is this Saturday May 18 at 4 p.m. at the Nanaimo Ice Centre versus the Burnaby Junior Lakers.

That begins a stretch of three games in four days with road games in Langley on May 19 and Victoria May 21.

Overall the Timbermen will have four of their first five games away from home.

Starting on June 1 the remaining home games will all be played out of Frank Crane Arena.
