Timbermen are 2021 Island Champions

The Junior A Timbermen are Island Champions for 2021.

Nanaimo beat Victoria 9-6 at Frank Crane Arena in Game 2 to win the three game playoff series.

One final game remains in Esquimalt on August 7 but the title will rest with Nanaimo regardless of the outcome.

Andrew Bowman led the way with three goals, Ryan Sheridan had two goals and an assist.

Justin Geddie stopped 44 shots for the win.

Thursday's action capped off three straight games of Nanaimo versus Victoria games.

The Junior A's won 13-11 in Tuesday's Game 1, and the Tier 1 Tmen lost 9-8 in overtime in their one game playoff on Wednesday.
