Timbermen battling towards playoffs
The top teams in the BCJALL continue to fight for the top four positions and a berth in the 2019 playoffs.
The Timbermen are right in the mix after going 3-1 in four games over a seven day span.
Nanaimo is 12-7 with two games remaining in the regular season.
In the past week the Tmen beat Delta 12-8 and Port Coquitlam 11-5, they lost 9-8 at home to New Westminster, and picked up a massive 10-9 win in Victoria.
The win in Delta featured a seven point outing from Arthur Miller, four point games from Ryan Sheridan and Colton Lidstone, and 46 saves from Justin Geddie.
Saturday's game in Poco was an impressive road performance with Cole Christiaens leading the way with seven points and Arthur Miller chipping in six.
Once again Geddie was sharp in goal with 38 stops.
On Sunday Nanaimo and New Westminster went back and forth all afternoon but the Bellies scored a late winner to take the game 9-8.
The scoring was very much spread out with Ryan Sheridan''s three points pacing the attack.
Justin Geddie was a standout with 45 saves in a game where New West outshot the Tmen 54-34.
Tuesday the Timbermen won the final island rivalry of the regular season 10-9 in Victoria.
Ryan Sheridan had five points and Thomas Vaesen added four and Geddie, making his fourth start in a week, stopped 37 shots to get the win.
This weekend there are two games left in the regular season, and the results are massive to ensure a playoff berth.
Nanaimo hosts Burnaby Saturday and they visit Delta in the regular season finale on Sunday.
