Timbermen boast winning weekend against Poco and Langley
The Nanaimo Timbermen are now 3-3 on the season after back to back impressive wins versus the Saints and Thunder over the May long weekend.
On May 20 the Tmen took down the previously undefeated Port Coquitlam Saints 13-5 at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.
Matt Boas led the offence with two goals and four assists while Jordon Vincent had four goals, Andrew Bowman notched three goals and an assist in his first game of the season, and Riley Arsenault chipped in with two goals and two assists.
Colby Bowman was excellent in net with a 48 save performance and the defence was anchored by captain Levi Verch who was also made his first appearance of the year.
Nanaimo hit the road on Sunday for a trip to Langley and came away with a solid 10-4 victory.
The Tmen outshot the Thunder 60-33 with Keegan Okino making 29 stops.
Once again Boas paced the attack with a goal and four assists. Arsenault had a hat trick plus an assist and Andrew Bowman had a three point game.
This weekend the Timbermen host the Salmonbellies on Saturday at 3:30 and the Islanders Sunday at 3:30.
The Saturday game is schedule for the NIC and the Sunday contest is slated for Frank Crane Arena.
