NANAIMO — The Timbermen are off to an 0-3 start to the season, with a lineup featuring a significant number of Junior B and Intermediate A call ups.
On Saturday Nanaimo lost 10-5 to the defending BC champs the Delta Islanders. Junior B call up Matt Alcorn had two goals for the Tmen in the loss while Teagan Pothier, Tyson Black, and Gordie Walls also had two points.
Dawson Trimble and Ryan Jones each had a five point outing for the Islanders.
The final shots finished 50-39 for Delta with Darian Claxton going the distance in goal for Nanaimo.
This weekend the Timbermen are in New Westminster Saturday at 5 p.m. with a home game versus the Burnaby Lakers at 4:30 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena.
