Timbermen on four game winning streak

The Nanaimo Junior A Timbermen are 11-6 after building up a four game winning streak.

Most recently Nanaimo beat Port Coquitlam 13-8 on Sunday and took down the Victoria Shamrocks 8-6 on Tuesday.

In Sunday's road win Riley Arsenault led the team with seven points while Tier 1 call up John Spaans and Matt Boas had two goals and three assists each.

Colby Bowman had a 40 save performance in net.

The island rivalry game on Tuesday was controlled by the Tmen for most of the night.

Although the Shamrocks led 2-1 early in the first period Nanaimo was up 5-2 after the opening period, and 7-3 heading into the third.

Jordan Vincent had an excellent night in transition with two goals and two assists while Andrew Bowman notched two goals and an assist and Riley Arsenault chipped in two goals.

Colby Bowman was very sharp in goal making 47 stops.

With four games left in the season the Timbermen are two points behind second place Victoria with a game in hand.

This weekend Nanaimo hosts Delta on Saturday and visits Coquitlam on Sunday.

On July 8 the Tmen host Burnaby and they wrap up the regular season on July 9 in New West.
