Timbermen red hot to open season at 4-0

Nanaimo's perfect start to the BCJALL season continues after weekend wins over Port Coquitlam and Burnaby.

The Timbermen are now 4-0 and enter the week tied for second in the league standings.

Saturday the Tmen got off to a slow start but dominated the final 40 minutes in beating the Saints 10-6.

Colin Jeffrey made 45 saves while on offence Ryan Sheridan had two goals and four assists, and Thomas Vaesen had two goals and two assists.

On Sunday Nanaimo travelled to Burnaby to take on the Lakers.

It was a dominating performance with the Timbermen cruising to a 15-6 victory.

Nanaimo had five players with at least six points in the win.

Vaesen led all scorers with a two goals and six assists, while Kyle Dawson had the most goals with a five goal and one assist outing.

Ryan Sheridan was big with three goals and four assists, Colton Lidstone had a goal and six assists, and Arthur Miller was excellent as well chipping in three goals and three assists.

Justin Geddie made 36 stops as Nanaimo allowed an impessive 11 goals against combined over the weeekend.

The next two games for the Tmen are both at the Island Savings Centre in Duncan.

They take on the 4-3 Shamrocks on Wednesday before battling the league leading Langley Thunder at the Big Stick on Saturday, and wrapping up the weekend in Port Coquitlam on Sunday.
