Timbermen season ends in Game 6 vs Adanacs

by Dan Marshall

Nanaimo's 2019 breakthrough season came to an end with a 9-4 home floor loss to Coquitlam on Saturday.

The Game 5 score was 8-4 for the Adanacs.

Kyle Dawson was the offensive leader in the final two games with a one goal and two assist performance in Game 5 and a four goal afternoon in Game 6.

Justin Geddie was a rock between the pipes, not allowing Coquitlam to hit double figures in the final two outings.

Looking back the 14-7 season for the Tmen was a fantastic turnaround, and the compete level throughout the season and playoffs points to a team that is on the verge of being a serious contender in the BCJALL.

Nanaimo improved dramatically in every aspect of the game in 2019, earning respect from opponents and inspiring belief within the team and the entire Timbermen organization that the club can perform at a high level.

The core of the team will remain intact and with the strength of the Tier 1 Jr B program and the resolve of Dave Bremner and the coaches to continue to improve the squad 2020 should be very exciting as well.

The Timbermen would like to thank the sponsors, parents, volunteers, fans, and everyone from the community who showed unwavering support all season long.
