Timbermen split weekend with Delta and Coquitlam
A pair of home games yielded different results for the Timbermen, but the team put in 120 solid minutes in a split with Delta and Coquitlam.
In Saturday's 10-7 win over the Islanders the Tmen were led by offensively by Pascal Coombs with three goals and one assist, and Adam Golia who chipped in two goals and two assists.
Darian Claxton made 35 saves for the victory.
On Sunday Coquitlam won 10-6 in a game with no scoring by either team in the the third period.
Claxton faced 52 shots and once again Pascal Coombs led the offense with two goals and two assists.
The coaching staff was pleased with the progression since the opening matchups against those weekend opponents.
Nanaimo lost 16-5 in Coquitlam and 10-5 at Delta earlier in the season.
This weekend the Tmen host the Burnaby Lakers on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. In their last head to head meeting the Timbermen won 10-7 in overtime on May 7.
