Timbermen start BCJALL season 2-0
The Nanaimo Junior A Timbermen are off to a 2-0 start after the opening weekend of the BCJALL season.
In Saturday's home opener against Delta the Tmen scored in the first minute and the last minute and never trailed in a tight 11-10 victory.
Ryan Sheridan was the offensive leader with a six goal and three assist outing.
Thomas Vaesen was also prominent with four goals.
In net Justin Geddie earned the win with 47 stops.
Nanaimo got some key minutes from seven Junior B call ups who played in the game.
On Sunday the Timbermen traveled to New Westminster and grabbed a hard fought 10-9 victory over the Bellies.
Thomas Vaesen had a goal and six assists in the win while Arthur Miller scored two goals and added two assists.
Cole Christians was also impressive with a hat trick performance.
Colin Jeffrey recorded 46 saves in Sunday's win and nine Junior B players suited up for the Timbermen.
Nanaimo's Junior B Tier 1 team is having a great start to their season, going 3-1 after the first two weekends.
This week the Timbermen have a home and home series with the Richmond Roadrunners starting at 1pm Saturday at the NIC.
