Timbermen start season 2-2

The Junior A Timbermen are sitting at 2-2 after a pair of weekend games against Langley and Burnaby.

In an incredibly tight game on Saturday the Tmen lost 7-6 to the Thunder.

After an offensive first period Langley led 5-4.  Nanaimo tied the game 5-5 in the second and the Thunder broke a 6-6 tie in the third period to secure the win.

Justin Geddie was extremely strong in net making 43 saves.

Andrew Bowman led the attack with a goal and three assists and Zander Torres chipped in with a hat trick.

Ryan Sheridan had two assists in his season debut.

The next day in Burnaby the Timbermen won 14-8.

Bowman was impressive offensively with five goals and three assists, Ryan Sheridan had a hat trick and Jack Bowie, Zander Torres and Jacob Dunbar each had three points as well.

Dunbar made his first appearance with the club after being acquired from Port Coquitlam in the offseason.

Geddie made 40 stops in the Victory.

Nanaimo has another weekend of back to back contests starting at home on Saturday June 4 at 3:30 p.m.

The Tmen will go on the road on Sunday June 5 for a rematch against Langley.
