Timbermen storm out of the gate 4-0
The Nanaimo Junior A Timbermen are in first place in the BCJALL after a 4-0 start.
After a win in Ladner on May 12 the Tmen started a stretch of three games in four days with their home opener on May 18.
Nanaimo won the home opener 13-7 over Burnaby led by strong performances from Andrew Bowman and Matt Boas with five points and Ty Pilkington with four.
The next day the Tmen went across to Langley and walked off with an 11-7 win.
Once again Bowman had five points and so did Pilkington.
Boas had four and newcomer Nicholas Luitwieler notched four in his first game with Nanaimo.
In the first island rivalry game with Victoria on May 21 it was Bowman and Pilkington driving the offence again in a 12-6 victory.
Bowman had a five point effort and Pilkington put up four.
Through the first two weeks of the season Nanaimo has been stout defensively with goalie Keegan Okino grabbing four wins with a 6.00 goals against average and stellar .864 save percentage.
The Timbermen have played more games than anyone else in the BCJALL but they are also the only undefeated team.
After three straight five point games Andrew Bowman leads the league in scoring with 18 points and also leads with nine goals, Matt Boas is second with 17 points and Ty Pilkington has 17 as well while leading the BCJALL with 11 assists.
The Tmen are back on the road Sunday May 26 for a game against the Salmonbellies at 2 p.m. at Queen's Park.
