Timbermen sweep Adanacs, move to 8-1

The Timbermen are the number one team in the BCJALL!

Nanaimo beat the defending Minto Cup champion Coquitlam Adanacs on back to back days at the Nanaimo Ice Centre on the weekend.

On Friday the Tmen won 8-7, led by a three goal and two assist performance from Thomas Vaesen and 31 saves by Justin Geddie.

There was never more than a two goal lead at any point during the game.

Saturday the Timbermen got up 9-6 in the third period and held on for a 9-8 victory.

Both Colton Lidstone and Arthur Miller had seven points, and Geddie was strong again with 39 stops.

The Timbermen are now 8-1 heading into Coquitlam for a first place showdown on Wednesday night.

Then on the weekend Nanaimo will host New Westminster at 4:30pm on Saturday and visit Langley at 5pm on Sunday.
