by Dan Marshall

The Nanaimo Junior A Timbermen started off the 2022 season with a road win in New Westminster.

Veteran goalie Justin Geddie was sharp in net making 38 saves in a 6-4 Tmen win.

Offensively newcomer Zander Torres paced the attack with three goal and two assists.

Riley Arsenault chipped in two goals and an assist while Arthur Miller had three helpers.

New Head Coach Glenn Clark said the game was his first chance to evaluate the talent he has on this year's roster.

"I liked our level of compete.  We have a hardworking group which is something nice to be able to build on.  There were probably eight guys on our roster who will probably ultimately be moved down to our Tier 1 team."

The Timbermen will have their home opener on Saturday May 21 at 2 p.m. at the Nanaimo Ice Centre against the Delta Islanders..
