Tmen add righty Jacob Dunbar for 2022

The Timbermen are pleased to welcome right hander Jacob Dunbar to the organization.

In the 2021 BCJALL season Dunbar finished third in league scoring with 38 points, and second in goals with 29.

He led the Port Coquitlam Saints in points in both the regular season and playoffs.

Overall in his career Dunbar has notched 57 goals and 99 points in 27 appearances.

Nanaimo Timbermen Team President Chris Bowman said Dunbar will be a key addition to an already strong offence.

"We want to make a deep playoff run this year and compete for a national championship. When the opportunity to add one of the elite scorers in this league presented itself, we jumped at it. Adding Jacob to a right side that already includes two veteran stars in Ryan Sheridan and Arthur Miller will create a very difficult situation for opposing defenses.”

The 20-year-old was the 13th overall pick in the last National Lacrosse League draft and made the opening day roster of the San Diego Seals.

In 2019 the Surrey product played for Team Canada West at the World Junior Lacrosse Championship, helping the squad earn a silver medal.

News on the the 2022 BCJALL schedule will be released in the coming weeks as the league looks to return to the first full season since 2019.
