Tmen win two of three games in four day span

The Timbermen have won six of their last seven games after a busy four days of BCJALL action.

Nanaimo had a 12-4 win over Port Coquitlam, a 10-9 setback in Burnaby and a 13-8 victory against the Victoria Shamrocks.

In Saturday's win over the Saints Riley Arsenault paced the attack with two goals and five assists.  Jack Bowie picked up three goals and two assists and Andrew Bowman counted five assists.

Colby Bowman was razor sharp in net with a 34 save performance.

The Timbermen had a strong start in Burnaby on Sunday but eventually lost out 10-9 to the Burnaby Lakers in overtime.

Matt Boas had five assists, Riley Arsenault picked up three goals and two assists, Andrew Bowman had two goals and two helpers and Jack Bowie had a hat trick.

Arsenault tied the game 9-9 with two seconds left in regulation time but the Lakers scored the only goal of the extra session.

Colby Bowman also had a 47 save outing in goal.

The busy stretch ended with an Island rivalry game at the Q Centre on Tuesday.

The Timbermen won 13-8 with Bowman's goaltending playing a pivotal role.

Nanaimo was outshot 64-50 but Bowman made 56 stops on the night.

His brother Andrew Bowman led the offence with a two goal and three assist effort.  Jack Bowie had three goals and an assist and Riley Arsenault added four assists.

The victory raised Nanaimo's record to 7-4, tied for third place in the BCJALL standings.

This weekend the Tmen host first place Coquitlam at 1 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena on Saturday and then visit Delta on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
