Ty Yanko Named New Timbermen Head Coach

After helping the team in the 2025 BCJALL playoffs Ty Yanko is now the Head Coach of the Junior A Timbermen.

Yanko was the Head Coach of the Burnaby Junior A Lakers from 2023–2025 and received the Doug Hazelwood Memorial Trophy in 2024, which is awarded to the BC Junior A Coach of the Year. 

Ty is also presently a Head Coach with Team BC Field Lacrosse and began in this position in 2021. 

He works as the Burnaby Field Development Coordinator and led Burnaby to their first Tier 1 championship game. 

His roles have focused on athlete development, program structure, and developing a structured system through the use of consistent film study and individual player improvement. 

Yanko takes over from Simon Stocks who guided several of Nanaimo's top Junior A teams in franchise history.

The Nanaimo Timbermen want to thank Simon who has given so much to our family.
